Cloud Manager is a tool for orchestrating the deployment and management of PeopleSoft environments on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). End-user organisations will be relieved of some of the burden of maintaining, creating, and administering Oracle Cloud infrastructure.

LIFT is a tool that allows Cloud Manager to elevate an application's application level (or intermediate level) and package it as a DPK. The database layer is also covered by a separate DPK. The LIFT / SHIFT step is where you finish configuring the database, web server, and app server. Cloud Manager connects to the database via Hot Backup. Hot backups are performed using RMan Recovery Manager, and the Oracle Database Cloud Backup Module (ODCBM) included with the lift software. Shift enables customers to use Cloud Manager to manage scale-in, scale-out, and clone environments. A new environment is created automatically in the Oracle Cloud. Manual setup is accomplished by copying DPKs from the source to the destination. After performing the shift actions in Lift, the Lift Utility updates the shifting topology to the correct VM form (Nodedownloaded). The Cloud Manager executes the Lift utility in the on-site environment created by uploading the customer application DPDKs to Oracle Cloud Services using the Cloud Manager. They may be used to create an ongoing application environment with intact customizability.
